As you’ve most likely heard, the U.S. House of Representatives recently failed to secure the number of votes needed to pass a bill that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act and replaced it with a new national health plan. While a new bill is now making its way through Congress, it appears that the current plan will be with us a bit longer. That is probably not good news for young people who don’t want to buy health insurance (or pay a penalty if they don’t buy it) nor for people who secure their health insurance through their employer and have seen their costs increase dramatically since the Act became law; these two groups would have benefitted under the House bill that didn’t pass. more

On May 9, the Citizen’s Traffic Task Force (CTTF) released comments that identified the next steps following the recent Ponte Vedra Beach Traffic Study public hearing that was conducted by the NFTPO: “Now that the NFTPO and its consultants have completed the study, they will incorporate public comments received at the hearing, in writing, or via their website into a final report to be presented to the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners.” more
