9-year-old hears hole-in-one at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club

Nathan Levinson couldn’t see his first hole-in-one. He heard it.

The 9-year-old hit his driver at the 97-yard par-3 16th hole at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. A setting sun and a mound that served as a deep lip between a bunker and the green kept the son of PGA Tour Senior Vice President for Tournament Administration Andy Levinson from seeing the ace.

The ball cleared a lake and the large bunker and disappeared over the horizon.

A group standing on the 17th tee box not only saw it, they yelled.

“When the guys in front of us started yelling, we knew the ball went in and we went crazy,” Nathan said. “I was super excited.”

One of Nathan’s first calls was to his grandfather, who has two holes-in-one.
