Landrum club expands projects in community

In the spring of 2015, Landrum Middle School’s “School House Rock Club” created, implemented and executed their first annual talent show in order to raise funds to help Patriot Service Dogs of Jacksonville train a service dog for a local veteran suffering from PTSD.

The club organized the show, provided concession stand items and had opportunities for attendees to donate to the cause.

The team of students were the emcees, the stage crew, and even provided some entertainment between acts where they showcased some creative ways to learn tough academic concepts like heredity!

The club is now in its 5th year, and is in the process of choosing their new charity and adding a school dance to their fund raising repertoire.

Club sponsor and 7th grade teacher Laurie Stanton would like to recognize the students as great innovators and philanthropists.
