St. Johns County local state of emergency approaching closure for those requiring temporary coastal armoring permits

The Local State of Emergency declared by St. Johns County is approaching closure and residents who require temporary coastal armoring permits along the beach are encouraged to apply no later than January 10. Unforeseen circumstances notwithstanding, the Local State of Emergency in St. Johns County, which has been in place since October 7, 2016, is not anticipated to be extended past the current expiration date of January 10. Residents requiring permits for minimal sand replacement, minor repairs, and temporary armoring along the coastline are encouraged to call 904.827.6800 or visit www.sjcfl.us/hurricanematthewrebuild to obtain additional information and permitting applications.
