ABET to hold auditions for ‘Man of La Mancha’ Jan. 6

The Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre (ABET) will hold auditions for "Man of La Mancha," a play-within-a-play based on Cervantes' “Don Quixote,” Jan. 6 at 11 a.m.

Participants should prepare a two-minute classic musical theatre song in the appropriate key; an accompanist will be provided. No acapella or karaoke track auditions are allowed, and accompanists will not transpose. Participants should also be prepared to learn short dance combinations and bring appropriate clothing/shoes for the activity.

Casting is open to all ethnicities and physical types. The play is set in a rough and ruthless world, so character types are encouraged to audition. Muleteers and most principal roles double as prisoners and/or gypsies.

The play will be directed by Lee Hamby, with musical direction by Erin Barnes.

ABET is located at 716 Ocean Blvd.
