The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach is preparing for the nonprofit's fifth annual Bag Lady Luncheon to be held on Feb. 21.
This special event is a fashionable fundraiser that features a silent auction and lunch at the Sawgrass Country Club. Bags and purses are donated by local shops and supporters of the arts and then auctioned off as guests sip champagne and enjoy lunch. Last year’s event featured over 120 handbags and raised over $24,000 with the help of more than 150 guests. Funds raised by the event support the Cultural Center, with a portion of proceeds benefitting the organization’s music therapy program for children with special needs.
Chaired by Becky Jewett and Barbara Moorewedow, this year's event will include a chance to win a brand-new Tory Burch purse. Handbags available through the auction will include a wide variety of styles, colors and designer labels.
Tickets and tables are available online at ccpvb.org or by phone at (904) 280-0614 x 205 until Feb. 16. Donations are being accepted at the Cultural Center’s office on 50 Executive Way during its regular business hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday).
