Beaches Community Fund now accepting applications for grants

Posted

The Beaches Community Fund recently announced it is accepting preliminary applications for grants available in 2019.

Grant opportunities exist for 501c3 organizations and/or units of local government with programs or projects that serve the Beaches communities — from Mayport to Guana, east of the Intracoastal Waterway.

The Beaches Community Fund is a collective giving circle based within The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, with grantmaking determined by its members. For the 2018-2019 grantmaking cycle, priority will be given to applications in four areas.

Early learning opportunities for low-income students. This includes access to high-quality early learning centers, as well as support for early learning centers seeking to enhance quality and learning within their center. In addition, applicants may offer learning opportunities for young children outside of early learning centers.

Supports K-12 students. This includes in-school support, after-school and out-of-school-time programs and enrichment programs for low-income students and at-risk students.

Access and affordability of basic needs. This includes nutritious food, affordable housing, shelter, healthcare and behavioral health support.

Access and affordability of essential transportation services.

Any 501c3 nonprofit organization or governmental unit may apply for funding that addresses one or more of those issues. The deadline to apply is Jan. 28, 2019 at noon.
