Bolles Lower School PVB class teaches students about Dale Chihuly artwork

Students in Jeanette Edwards' Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus class recently learned about Dale Chihuly's artwork and how color can manifest due to heated materials, with a holiday spin.

Edwards' students used permanent markers to color designs on the side of plastic cups to make Chihuly-inspired disks for the holidays. The cups were baked until they were flat, melted disks.

Chihuly is an American glass sculptor whose works of blown glass art appear in museums, buildings and exhibit halls around the world. The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville features a Chihuly work of art in the hospital's reception area.
