Celebrities converge on Ponte Vedra Beach for Tim Tebow Foundation’s annual Golf Classic

Posted

The Tim Tebow Foundation’s eighth annual Celebrity Golf Classic brought celebrities of all kinds to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass Saturday, March 3 for a charitable round of golf. Proceeds of the event and the preceding gala, held March 2, will benefit the foundation’s various outreach efforts.

Players ranged from professional athletes and coaches to reality television stars, including professional golfer Lanto Griffin, retired Major League Baseball player Johnny Damon, University of Florida head football coach Dan Mullen, Chip Gaines of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” cast members of A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” and of course Tim Tebow himself, among others. Spectators of the tournament had the opportunity to converse with some of their favorite celebrities between holes, and even grab a few photos and autographs to commemorate the experience.

In its first seven years, the Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Gala and Golf Classic raised more than $10 million to fund its mission of bringing “faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.” Among the foundation’s outreach programs and initiatives are the W15H Program, Timmy’s Playrooms, the Tebow CURE Hospital, Orphan Care, Adoption Aid, Team Tebow and the annual Night to Shine prom.
