The public is invited to attend opening night for Jacksonville Beach’s annual Deck The Chairs (DTC) display on Sunday, Nov. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m.
More than 40 imaginative lifeguard chair displays, sponsored and decorated by local businesses and organizations, will be showcased in Latham Plaza and the Seawalk Pavilion area. The night will feature a performance by the First Coast Wind Symphony, kids’ activities, VIP and sponsor recognition and the Spirit of the Corps Award recognizing an outstanding member of the Volunteer Life Saving Corps of Jacksonville Beach.
DTC promotes the arts and fosters community pride and involvement through a creative display of public art. Free and open to the public, the light displays and park activities provide a wholesome and festive downtown experience during the holidays. DTC has received national recognition from People Magazine, INSIDER and Coastal Living, and recently won five awards from The Florida Festivals & Events Association.
