The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida recently announced Deven Malone as the 2018 recipient of the Craig Speziale Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship recognizes a Ponte Vedra High School graduating senior who demonstrates academic excellence, school leadership, community service and the “Spirit of Spez.” Malone graduated summa cum laude and amassed over 220 community service hours. He was vice president of the National Honor Society, captain of Hi Q and a member of the Ponte Vedra cross country team. He is currently attending Georgetown University and pursuing a career in international law.
The Craig Speziale Memorial Scholarship honors the lifetime commitment to education made by Craig Speziale. Speziale was the first principal at Ponte Vedra High School and served in that capacity until his passing in 2014 after a battle with cancer. The fund is used to improve scholarship among Ponte Vedra High School students through grants and/or college scholarships to students.
