Grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts brighten Nocatee Farmers Market

Posted

The Saturday, June 15 Nocatee Farmers Market had an Island Experience theme. Shoppers were encouraged to wear Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts to witness performances by Prince Pele’s Polynesian Revue including a variety of Polynesian dances, costumes and live music. Shows were scheduled at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. so it was easy to catch a performance. There were photo opportunities with the performers throughout the day. Kids had fun in the bounce houses and participated in craft projects.

The Farmers Market, hosted on third Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nocatee Station Field, is open to the public and features more than 70 local vendors offering fresh produce, crafts, jewelry, herbs, unique foods and more.
