Jacksonville Icemen offer complimentary tickets to teachers

The Jacksonville Icemen gave back to hard-working teachers across North Florida and South Georgia by offering teachers a complimentary ticket (with purchase of a discounted ticket) to a Feb. 23 match-up against the Norfolk Admirals in Jacksonville.

Additionally, a portion of the ticket sales benefited the Stoneman Douglas Victims' Fund to support the victims, families and all those affected by last week's tragedy in Parkland. The Stoneman Douglas Victims' GoFundMe was established by the Broward County School District to provide relief and financial support to the families and victims of the Feb. 14 Parkland tragedy.

"We are privileged to honor teachers who, each and every day, provide our children with the knowledge and skills for their future,"  said Bob Ohrablo, Jacksonville Icemen president. "This year especially we have been shone how much they truly care for our children when three shining examples of teachers sacrificed themselves to protect the lives of their students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland last week."

The Jacksonville Icemen, an affiliate for the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose, announced they were awarded an ECHL membership in February 2017, beginning with the 2017-18 season. The Icemen host 36 home games at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Single game, group and season tickets are on sale now by calling (904) 602-7825 or visiting JaxIcemen.com.
