The Jacksonville University women's golf team used a third-round surge to finish eighth overall at the Kiawah Island Spring Classic on Feb. 26, at Osprey Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.

As one of three competitors to shoot par or better in all three rounds, junior Hannah Berman finished with 12 birdies on the week to tie for fifth with a tournament total of 214 (72-71-71).

"I'm really proud of the comeback we had the last two rounds. We improved each day and it was a total team effort," head coach Jennifer Borocz said. "Congrats to Hannah on her individual finish and making the All-Tournament teams."

Jacksonville's biggest mover of the day was senior Amanda Detmer, who led the Dolphins with a team-best 69 in the final round.

Freshman Mawgan Vater remained consistent through the final two rounds, and carded a 72 to move up 36 spots, while senior Maria Brunzell finished two strokes behind and four over par on the day.

Senior Louise Persson closed out the day with a 75, for a 12-stroke improvement from her first round.

The Dolphins return to action on March 11 and 12 for the Spring Break Shootout at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City.
