A group of 12 Landrum Middle School cheerleaders recently helped local nonprofit S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue with its holiday pet adoption event on Dec. 8 in the parking lot of Pet Supermarket in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The cheerleaders baked, organized, set up display tables, cared for 11 puppies, helped take pictures with Santa for donations and invited people to the event’s sing-along. The girls encouraged visitors to join in the fun, socialized the puppies and adult dogs for adoptions and helped to walk, feed and hug the furry friends.

According to the cheerleading team, the girls helped find homes for seven of the 11 puppies and three of the nine adult dogs at the event. After the bake sale, the girls took the leftover goodies to the local fire station.
