Local residents enjoy Mardi Gras party

On Saturday, March 2, Bill and Rhendy Rowe hosted a Mardi Gras party at their home in Marsh Landing.

The house was decorated to the hilt, with street signs, masks, feathers, beads and two Mardi Gras trees. Starting with Hurricanes, the New Orleans fare included oysters served on spoons, shrimp and grits, crab cakes, chicken gumbo, muffuletta, jambalaya and bread pudding.  There was also a king cake imported from New Orleans, which traditionally contains a tiny baby Jesus inside.
