A 16-year old Nease High School student was arrested on 10 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of sexual performance by a child Wednesday afternoon.

Alexander Ngai-Crim, 16, was taken into custody at his St. Augustine home May 17. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began last week, when the SJSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual had uploaded numerous images of suspected child pornography.

A search warrant was executed Wednesday morning, and detectives seized numerous

electronic devices and storage that was and will be forensically searched. Numerous images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children were located on a computer belonging to Ngai-Crim. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for him on 11 felony charges.

Ngai-Crim was booked into the county jail and was scheduled to be turned over to juvenile justice authorities. Additional charges are pending further investigation by the sheriff’s office.
