Felicia Cox is the vice president and group manager at IBERIABANK in Ponte Vedra Beach. A Jacksonville native, Cox is also an active member of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and a big fan of the Jaguars.

Can you please briefly tell us about your background?

I'm a native of Jacksonville who started my banking career at age 17 with Barnett Bank (now Bank of America) while attending high school. Barnett Bank gave me the opportunity to develop the skills I needed to begin a career in banking. I attended college locally and earned my degree while working full time. I've been in banking all my working life, and I've worked in the Ponte Vedra market for 21 years. After leaving Bank of America, I was offered a position at SunTrust Bank in Ponte Vedra and worked there for seven years before coming to IBERIABANK. I’m also active in the St. Johns Chamber of Commerce, where I have served as past president of the Ponte Vedra Chamber and past chairman of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Ponte Vedra Beach Division.

What are your primary roles and responsibilities as vice president and group manager at IBERIABANK?

IBERIABANK offers a full range of banking services, both consumer and commercial. We have people dedicated to commercial banking, mortgage banking and wealth management.

My primary responsibilities are, with the excellent help of my team, to manage the retail operations of IBERIABANK’s three branches in Jacksonville: Downtown, Ortega and Ponte Vedra.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Working with our clients and employees is the most rewarding part of my job.

I enjoy helping my customers receive the right banking solutions for their needs. Banking has become such a commodity today that it's important to differentiate yourself from everyone else. I believe this is a relationship proposition, so my team does whatever it can to make and keep our customers happy. A satisfied client will come back for more services and refer you to others.

As for our employees, my team is committed to client satisfaction, and that makes us all successful. I like to make sure my team is fired up and trained up to exceed the needs of our clients.

What are some of the challenges facing the banking industry today?

The challenges for us are the normal challenges facing any business in today’s environment: customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and increased competition. Customers have a lot of choices as to whom they bank with. My goal is to keep my customers happy, so they'll continue to do business with IBERIABANK. My team and I are focused on providing the best in banking and financial services to our customers.

What do you enjoy most about living on the First Coast?

I love seeing Jacksonville grow and continue to prosper. I love being near the beach, the Jaguars and the new things coming to Jacksonville. I also love the great weather, exciting new restaurants, shopping and the casual lifestyle.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy travelling with my husband, dining out and attending Jaguars games.
