The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach hosted the 16th annual Navy Day Golf Tournament, a special event intended to honor local veterans, on Monday, Nov. 5.

Founded after 9/11 by former Plantation resident and World War II Navy veteran Jim Gaff to honor those serving in the military — especially the Navy — festivities included a breakfast, golf tournament and luncheon with prizes and awards. Captain Sean Haley offered remarks at the luncheon and thanked volunteers for their contributions.

Over the last 16 years, the event has featured representatives from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Naval Station Mayport, the Marines, the Coast Guard, K9s for Warriors and more.
