Ponte Vedra athlete finishes third in age group at 2018 Spartan North American Championship

Ponte Vedra resident Bruce Jackson earned a spot atop the podium at the Spartan North American Championship in Glen Jean, West Virginia, after capturing third in the Super 40-49 age group with a time of 1:28:02. The best obstacle racers on the continent tackled the gritty course at the Summit Bechtel Reserve for the event held Aug. 25-26.

The race weekend included some of the top athletes from the U.S., Canada and Mexico, as well as weekend warriors and new racers taking on Spartan’s signature events, including the “Beast” (12-plus miles, 30 to 35 obstacles), “Super” (8 to 10 miles, 24 to 29 obstacle), “Sprint” (3 to 5 miles, 20 to 23 obstacles) and Kids Races. The course featured miles of technical terrain, steep elevation and signature Spartan obstacles designed to push competitors to their limits.
