Ponte Vedra Valley to hold annual Veterans Day Celebration

Ponte Vedra Valley, a family owned and operated funeral home with on-site cremation center and cemetery, has announced it will hold its 20th Annual Veterans Day Celebration on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m., honoring all service men and women who have served and preserved the country since its founding.

The featured speaker will be Lt. Col. Paula Roderick, USAF, retired. The Southern Cruisers Riding Club will lead the entrance procession followed by the Riderless Horse. Also participating will be the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, Mayport Honor Guard, Nease High School’s JROTC cadets, American Legion Post 233 and local Boy Scout Troop 288. Dual taps, as played at Arlington National Cemetery, will be performed, and bagpipes will also be played.

The community is invited to join in tribute to all who have sacrificed to preserve the country’s freedom. Seating is provided but is limited. Attendees should feel free to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for additional seating. Golf carts will be available for those who need assistance.
