Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville to host Light Up the House 5K & Family Day Event

Posted

The Light Up the House 5K to benefit critically ill children staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville will take place on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 a.m.

The general public is invited to join other run enthusiasts on the 5K race course, which snakes its way through the historic San Marco community and along the St. Johns River.

Race participants should register in advance to take advantage of a reduced registration fee. Participants are also encouraged to form a team and create their own fundraising page to raise additional funds for the mission of Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville. For every $5 raised among individuals and teams, Ronald McDonald House will add a holiday light to the outside of the House until it’s completely lit.

The event will also feature a free Family Day festival for both children and adults that will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Special guests, such as story book characters, will make an appearance, and event goers can enjoy games, arts and crafts, face painting, balloon art and more.
