Last week, Damon Olinto, THE PLAYERS 2018 tournament chairman, and Donna Deegan, founder of The DONNA Foundation, announced that THE PLAYERS Donna 5K series has generated $500,000 for The DONNA Foundation since the race’s inception in 2009.

“It is impossible to adequately measure the impact THE PLAYERS has had on The DONNA Foundation,” said Donna Deegan, whose foundation provides financial assistance and support to families living with breast cancer and also funds groundbreaking research at Mayo Clinic. “The $500,000 that’s been raised has helped to ensure families aren’t swallowed up by the financial burdens they often face with a breast cancer diagnosis. Add that to the power of THE PLAYERS brand, and they’ve really helped to put our efforts on the map.”

THE PLAYERS will continue to work with The DONNA Foundation, with the 2019 race set to take place on Saturday, March 2 — just two weeks before the next champion of THE PLAYERS will be crowned — to an expected, at-capacity field of 1,750 runners. Runners and walkers of all levels will enjoy a 5K route through the back nine of THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. Additionally, new in 2019, THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K has been re-routed to start and finish by the Davis Love III Tournament Entry located near the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse.

“We are so excited to once again host THE PLAYERS DONNA 5K at TPC Sawgrass,” THE PLAYERS 2019 Tournament Chairman Adam Campbell said. “This race gives the community a sneak-peek and behind-the-scenes look at the tournament course and other key fan activations while helping raise funds for breast cancer research. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

Registration is now open for the race, which will start at 8:30 a.m. Participants will receive a T-shirt, race medal and a Wednesday Stadium Pass to THE PLAYERS. Visit http://www.theplayersdonna5k.com to register and for more information.
