Traffic patterns have changed at the intersection of May Street and San Marco Avenue in St. Augustine. Construction began in fall 2017 but was delayed several times because of weather. On July 1, the traffic pattern changed significantly.
Heading west on May Street toward San Marco Avenue, there are now dedicated right and left turn lanes instead of an intersection. During a brief observation period, several motorists seemed confused.
Construction will continue through late 2019. Lane closures, if required, are restricted to Sunday through Wednesday between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
