Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside has been named to Healthgrades’ list of 2024 specialty excellence awards for spine surgery. The hospital was recognized as a top-five hospital in Florida and the only one in the Jacksonville area.

Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance using objective quality measures, including clinical outcomes and patient safety, as well as patient experience.

In addition to this excellence award, St. Vincent’s Southside has also earned patient safety excellence awards from 2021 through 2023, and a specialty award in cranial neurosurgery as recently as 2022.
The hospital’s multidisciplinary approach connects patients with medication therapies, surgical care and neurophysiology care.

Earlier this month, Southside also fully launched the innovative TOPS System for treating back pain after being one of the first hospitals in the country – and the only facility in the area – to trial the technology.
