COA reschedules Champions for Elders Tournament

The St. Johns County Council on Aging has announced that its Champions for Elders Golf Tournament has been rescheduled for December 16 and will be played at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine.

The annual fundraising event supports the COA and the critical services relating to seniors and caregivers in St. Johns County that the nonprofit offers.

The event was initially scheduled with an August date but was rescheduled due to inclement weather in the area.

Sponsors are invited to bring a team of four to enjoy a day of golf followed by a celebratory luncheon or participate as a sponsor off the course and support the important work COA does every day for local seniors and caregivers.

Playing sponsorships that include a golf team of four begin at $1,500.

Supporting sponsorships are available starting at the $300 level. All sponsors are invited to attend the luncheon at the close of the tournament.

As a nonprofit organization, the COA relies heavily upon the financial support of members in the community, local businesses, and community organizations to support their important mission.

The COA is confident that the date change will not affect the funds raised from the event, as it is a key annual fundraiser for the organization.

“We look forward to this new tournament date in December to spend time with the members of our community who are making a difference in the lives of local seniors,” explained COA Executive Director Becky Yanni. “Our sponsors truly care for the elders we serve, and we could not accomplish our mission without their generous support.”

Individuals and organizations interested in participating as playing teams and/or sponsors may contact Janel Graham with the COA by calling 904-209-3697 or emailing jgraham@coasjc.org by December 10.

The Palencia Club is located at 600 Palencia Club Drive in St. Augustine.
