Step back in time to an environment reflecting the speakeasies of the 1920s for this year’s 22nd annual Delicious Destinations event Sept. 6-7 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club benefitting the Ascension St. Vincent’s Foundation.
This year’s coastal speakeasy theme “Sip, Savor & Support” invites you to sip curated wines and savor exquisite coastal-inspired dishes prepared by regionally celebrated chefs in a setting reminiscent of the Roaring ’20s.
On Friday, Sept. 6, guests are invited to a special luncheon featuring Chef Colin McClimans, executive chef and owner of Nina May and Opal restaurants in Washington, D.C. The luncheon will also feature wine educator Shaun C. Wright, fine wine manager for North Florida Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.
The main event on Saturday, Sept. 7, showcases 14 chefs from top restaurants in Florida and Georgia. Live and silent auctions will also be part of the event.
This year’s Delicious Destinations, presented by Miller Electric, is chaired by some of the community’s esteemed medical professionals. Dr. Abdi Abbassi, a gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Consultants, and his wife Kristina Abbassi are co-chairing alongside Dr. Valery Muenyi, also a gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Consultants, and his wife Dr. Sofia Muenyi, a family physician at UF Health Jacksonville.
“We are excited to carry on the Delicious Destinations tradition and contribute to the vital support it brings to Ascension St. Vincent's Mission,” said Dr. Abdi Abbassi. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase Ascension St. Vincent's commitment to both health care and philanthropy in Northeast Florida.”
Last year’s event raised more than $298,000 that provided essential medical services, medication management and health care education to those in need.
