Organizers are spending today (Friday, Dec. 15) preparing Deck The Chairs for a major weekend weather event.
All weekend activities in Latham Plaza Park, home to Jax Beach Deck The Chairs, are cancelled. Event organizers and volunteers will spend Friday and Saturday securing the popular lifeguard chair decorations and bringing unsecured props onto the pavilion stage. Weekend concessions have been cancelled, and all Saturday pavilion stage programming is postponed, including chair awards announcements, The Navy Band and several children’s holiday dance ensembles.
Deck The Chairs expects to spend Monday, Dec. 18, assessing the space and working to make the park fully operational by Tuesday night. Plans for bringing back dance ensembles and sharing awards will be announced ahead of the Christmas holiday break.
