As the players seized the opportunity Wednesday for some practice on the stadium course, all those associated with THE PLAYERS Championship were making preparations for the start of the tournament. The Recorder caught up with Jared Rice, executive director of THE PLAYERS, as he joined Jim and Tabitha Furyk at Kids Zone where they were packing food for Blessings in a Backpack.
“I think we’re looking forward to Thursday at 6:50 a.m. when that first tee shot goes in the air,” Rice said when asked about this year’s tournament. “The property looks amazing. The activations are incredible for fans. Our local restaurant partners are ready to go. Ponte Vedra and Northeast Florida are going to show exceptionally well, and the athletes will do their job.”
