An accident Friday afternoon in Nocatee claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound along a curved section in the 4000 block of Valley Ridge Boulevard when it apparently jumped the curb and ejected the rider.
No other vehicles were involved, and investigators do not believe that speed was a factor.
The rider was treated at the scene and taken to Baptist South Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The rider’s name was not released.
Following the accident, Valley Ridge West at Joellyn Court was closed for a time to traffic in both directions.
