Food pantry donations doubled

Posted

The LJD Jewish Family & Community Services (JFCS) Max Block Food Pantry Matching Challenge is in full swing now through July 31, which means any gift you give toward hunger relief will be automatically doubled. And the need is especially great right now. With free or reduced lunches unavailable over summer break, local students who relied on school for regular, healthy meals no longer have that support. This is in addition to hundreds of working families simply struggling to make ends meet with grocery prices still running high.

“We are grateful to the Block family for their enduring generosity and commitment to helping hungry families in need,” said Colleen Rodriguez, CEO of JFCS. “Doubling each donation will have a significant impact on our food pantry, enabling us to help food-insecure people this summer and beyond.”

JFCS and the Max Block Food Pantry serve people of all ages, races, religions and backgrounds. Last year, JFCS served more than 15,000 clients with more than 135,000 meals. Learn more and have your donation doubled at JFCSjax.org.
