Florida Chamber Music Project’s (FCMP) will celebrate the father of the string quartet, Joseph Haydn, along with Robert Schumann at its Sunday, April 7, performance. The concert begins at 3 p.m. at the Beaches Museum Chapel at the Beaches Museum at 505 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach. It is sponsored by Ann Wingate in loving memory of her husband Earl M. Barker Jr., former FCMP board chair.

“Haydn’s String Quartet in G Major, Opus 77, No. 1 is an example of how he evolved as a composer,” said FCMP Artistic Director Susan Pardue. “Along with the other last of his quartets, it is described as Beethovenian. Robert Schumann’s String Quartet in F Major, Opus 41, No. 2 is among the first of his quartets and Haydn’s influence can be heard throughout.”

Tickets are $30 and are available for purchase through Eventbrite. Single tickets are also available for purchase at the door, as are student tickets at a cost of $10.

Beaches Museum Chapel is wheelchair-accessible and has free parking along Pablo Avenue near 4th Street North of Beach Boulevard. Attendees are invited to attend a post-concert reception.

The Florida Chamber Music Project was founded 11 years ago by violist Susan Pardue. Members include  violinists Patrice Evans and Ann Hertler and cellist Laurie Casseday. All are members of the Jacksonville Symphony.
