Marque events highlight JAGA’s 2024 season

The Jacksonville Amateur Golf Association’s slate of events for 2024 consists of a dozen tournaments throughout the year, featuring men, women and junior golfers in the area and beyond.

The variety of tournament formats will also be used, including stroke play, match play and team formats held at an array of golf courses across Northeast Florida.

No time was wasted, as the season kicked off with the JAGA First Cost Amateur at Amelia National Golf & Country Club in Fernandina Beach on Jan. 13-15, which was won by Kent Hsiao of Purdue University, who shot a event low 65 in the final round to post 11-under and win by one stroke over Egor Eroshenko of the University of Central Florida.

Other events highlighting this year’s calendar include the Underwood Cup which will take place Feb. 5 and 6 at Timuquana Country Club, while the Celebration of Golf presented by Circle K banquet will be held at the club on Feb. 12.

A busy spring and summer will get underway with the JAGA Spring Four-ball event at Marsh Landing Country Club on March 25, while one of the marquee events on the schedule will 67th Annual JAGA Senior Amateur Championship on April 7-9 at Deerwood Country Club.

The 63rd Annual JAGA Jacksonville Amateur Championship, where the area’s top golfers will showcase how bright the future really is for the game of golf, as well as the First Coast Women’s Amateur, where the top female golfers in the region fight for bragging rights.

The Jacksonville Amateur Championship will be held at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club on July 18-20 and the First Coast Women’s Amateur will be hosted by The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach the next week on July 22-24.
