St. Augustine resident Katelynn Sullivan, 22, died Saturday, May 26 due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident that occurred at Dunns Creek State Park in Putnam County, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Per the report, Sullivan, a 2014 graduate of Allen D. Nease High School, was one of three passengers riding in the vehicle when it flipped over at around 8:15 p.m. on May 26. After being ejected from the vehicle, Sullivan was pinned underneath it for an extensive period before she was transported to Putnam Community Medical Center. She later died from her injuries.

The report notes that the other two passengers in the vehicle — Shannon Edmonds, 22, of St. Augustine and driver Sarah Edmonds, 23, of Jacksonville — sustained minor injuries, and that none of the three passengers was wearing a seatbelt or helmet. The cause of the accident, however, is still under investigation.

A memorial service was held for Sullivan on June 1 at Craig Funeral Home Memorial Park in St. Augustine.
