Oct. 10: Family Drive-In Movie

Nocatee Residents are invited to enjoy a drive-in movie on Nocatee’s larger-than-life 35’ by 55’ movie screen every month. This month’s event will feature the newly released live-action Disney film “Cinderella.”  Residents will be able to drive onto the field and watch the film while listening through the car radio. Complimentary popcorn will be available at the Swim Club. Beverages and candy will now be available for purchase at the concessions window. Some outdoor seating is provided for families who prefer to watch the film outside; bug spray is recommended. Drive-in movies are held weather permitting. Movie starts at sundown. E-mail fun@nocatee.com to RSVP.

Oct. 13: Kids Halloween Crafts

Little ones at Nocatee (right) love getting crafty and creative at monthly Kid’s Kraft Days. Don’t forget to sign up for this October’s special Halloween-themed Kraft Day coming up next Tuesday. All kids ages five and up are invited for a fun afternoon of crafting with projects that kids can take home at the end of the day. Just e-mail fun@nocatee.com to sign up. (Space is limited). The event is hosted Oct. 13 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Oct. 17: Farmers Market Fall Festival

The Nocatee Farmers Market this October invites the community to get excited for the season with the annual Fall Festival, sponsored by Florida Water Technologies Inc. The day will feature a live bluegrass band, Big Cypress, a petting zoo, horse drawn hay-rides and life-size scarecrow making — a Nocatee tradition. Get to the market early as scarecrow supplies are limited. Make sure to bring your own adult size button down t-shirt and adult size jeans — the market will provide the rest.

Along with this seasonal and festive theme, the market includes over 80 local vendors offering items such as organic produce, herbs, spices, delicious unique foods, crafts, jewelry and more. Free face painting will be provided by Chet’s Creek Church, along with free crafts. The Farmers Market is hosted at Farmers Market Field, 100 Marketside Ave. in Nocatee.

Oct. 9 & 23: Food Truck Fridays

Nocatee will host its bi-weekly Food Truck Fridays on Oct. 9 and Oct. 23 at the Splash Water Park from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Jacksonville’s favorite Jax Truckies food trucks will gather to serve the community some local, one-of-a-kind gourmet food and snacks. The first event will feature live music by Sam Lee, and Cody Johnson will provide music at the Oct. 23 event. Beer and wine are available for purchase at the bar, including select craft beers and wines.
