Learn with a Librarian: Libby

11 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 4

Learn how to use Libby for eBooks and eAudio. Sessions will include interactive instructions to use apps and computer databases, so participants are encouraged to bring their personal devices and smartphones. RSVP at 904-827-6950 or sjcpls.org. 

Chef Warren: Spanish Cuisine

6-7 p.m. Sept. 4

Spanish cuisine — it’s more than just spice! Learn why experts say a Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest as you learn to make meals from the various regions of Spain with ingredients you can find in any grocery store. Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library’s Tech Volunteer David Ross is here to help. Bring your device and your questions. David Ross can help you one-on-one with your tech, including iPhone and Android cell phones or tablets, PC and Mac laptops, and Nook and Kindle readers.

PVB Teens: Video Game Tournament

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9

A single elimination Nintendo Switch video game tournament featuring Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers. This program is for teens in grades 6-12.

Adult Coloring Club

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 10

Join in for fun, laughter and creativity as attendees spend time coloring together. Supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring a snack.

PVB Teen Book Binding

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16

Learn to “sew” your own books. Using traditional strategies, attendees will take on this challenge and as always have a few laughs.

Women’s Singing Circle

6-7 p.m. Sept. 16

Join Ms. Jane, a singer and former music teacher, for a fun, informal evening of singing with other women who love to sing. She will lead participants in learning rounds, partner songs and chants by ear, so no music-reading ability is necessary. All talent levels are welcome. Friends of the Library Speaker Series with Nat Glover

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17

Jacksonville’s first African-American sheriff, Nat Glover, will discuss his biography, “Striving for Justice.”

Friday Flicks: “The Parent Trap”

3 to 5:15 p.m. Sept. 20

Don’t miss this remake of the classic, “The Parent Trap.” All ages are welcome. Hallie Parker, a hip Californian, and Annie James, a proper London miss are identical twins who don’t even know each other exists — until they accidentally meet at summer camp. Now they’re up to their freckles in schemes and dreams to switch places, get their parents back together and have the family they’ve always wished for. All ages are welcome.

Birding 101 with St. Johns Audubon

10-11 a.m. Sept. 21

Participants will learn the basics of birding and how to use the eBird smartphone app before going on a short, guided walk through Bird Island Park with a knowledgeable educator from St. Johns Regional Audubon. Exploring Watercolors Adult Art Workshop

Embark on a colorful journey with this watercolor art class for adults.
