St. Augustine Christmas Parade celebrates community, holiday season

First Coast residents braved the elements last Saturday to enjoy the annual St. Augustine Christmas Parade and jump into the holiday spirit.

Despite the rain, the Dec. 1 parade featured an array of festively decorated and themed attractions and performances, including floats, marching bands, antique cars, horses and dogs and more. Per the usual, Santa Claus served as the last attraction of the event, waving to children from the top of a firetruck.

Starting at the Mission Nombre de Dios, the parade proceeded through downtown and disbanded on Orange Street. Local schools, businesses and civic and nonprofit organizations participated to make the parade a success once again.
