Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump endorsed former St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar for Florida state senator (District 7) Sunday, Aug. 4, on his Truth Social platform, along with several other down ticket endorsements.

In his endorsement, the former U.S. president wrote: “David Shoar is a tremendous America First Patriot who is running to represent the incredible people of Florida’s 7th State Senate District! A Gulf War Army Veteran, David bravely served our Country, and has continued to fight to protect our Communities as St. Johns County Sheriff. As your next State Senator, David will bring that same fighting Spirit to Bring Back the Great American Dream, Grow the Economy, Stop Inflation, Secure the Border, Support our Brave Military/Vets, Advance Election Integrity, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. David Shoar, who is 100% MAGA, and has been with us from the very beginning, has my Complete and Total Endorsement – HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

“I am deeply honored and grateful for President Trump’s endorsement,” wrote Shoar in a statement released to the media. “I have stood with President Trump from the beginning in 2016 and will always have his back. I will fight side by side with President Trump to stop the Radical Left, protect our country from illegal immigration, and make our state and nation affordable again. The Tallahassee establishment is spending millions attacking me because just like President Trump, I can’t be bought or controlled by the powers that be. I will drain the swamp in Tallahassee and fight for the needs of our citizens.”

Shoar is one of three Republicans competing for the District 7 seat, the others being Tom Leek and Gerry James.
